July 24, 2008 Operations Meeting

Mike, Viva and Michael presented a plan for trapping, decision-making, and announcing fogging schedules.  Decisions will need to be made daily to use up-to-the minute data.  Only 24 hour notification will be given.  Trappers will consult with a Board Member (Michael or, when he is out of town, Tara or Kevin) to finalize the routes.  That Board Member will notify Frank and Rena to go over the routes, and Viva will update the website and flyers.  Kevin and his staff will continue to update the phone message.  Michael would like it to have numbered options so people don't have to listen to the whole spray schedule before leaving a message, or perhaps there is an option to skip the outgoing message.  Kevin reports the code Bill Kolb gave us to change the outgoing message on the 3403 line doesn't work.  Gordon says he now has the PIN for that line, so we can change options at the level of the phone company.

Much debate regarding whether to fog the Mesas tonight.  The trap counts are above threshold except for Pitkin Mesa.  Kris felt we hadn't notified and so shouldn't do it, but Tara felt we had been doing blanket notification all along so people expected that if they got fogged, it would be on their "regular" night, which would normally be tonight.  Friday can be designated a "make up" night in case an area that needs to  be fogged got skipped due to weather.  The decision was made to go ahead and fog the eastern mesas tonight.
