Report Mosquitoes
Got mosquitoes? Let us know by adding a comment. Or, you can call the "hot line" at 527-6681 and the PMCD crew will respond. This year we will probably not be fogging in all areas as regularly as last year. We will keep to the usual calendar schedule so people know when they might be fogged, but we will skip areas that have low mosquito counts. If you have a "hot spot," let us know and we will try to eliminate or treat it. We are equipped to do truck fogging with Biomist 3+15, a synthetic pyrethroid. Look under Spray Schedule to see if we will be spraying in your area soon.

First we do have mosquitoes in central Hotchkiss. 229 West Bridge Street Phone: 872-2664 Not terrible, terrible yet but even a few culex can be a problem. I'm killing several mosquitoes a day inside the building, something I didn't notice that much before.
Re- Richard's comment. it would be better if you would share your address or at least the general area where you live. That way when others post it will constitute a clear record of a hot spot area. I'm assuming that Richard has a pond or something that "can" be treated with larvicide and that he has taken the personal initiative to eliminate to eliminate water trapping junk and other unnecessary standing water which might create breeding areas.
Yes I am very upset about the mosquitoe district for 2 years now I have been calling and telling them they are not coming onto my property to check for mosquitoes I am a previous manager I know where these mosquitoes are and this year I called again and told the manager that they are not doing a very good job in my area I have never seen them on my property. So this is what I want, I do not want to pay with my taxes anymore for the mosquitoes tax if they cannot do there job. You may email me at dwgharleyman@yahoo.com I am sure that I am not the only one not getting taking care of. Maybe I should bill you for me taking care of the mosquitoes in my backyard!
